On June 21 a joint NASA / ESA team headed by Robert M. Lightfoot Jr, NASA's acting administrator and David Parker, ESA Director of Human Spaceflight and Robotic Exploration Programmes visited the Airbus site Bremen. Special interest was about the progress that was already made on the European Service Module for NASA's next generation spaceship Orion.

Robert Lightfoot emphasized the importance of the work done in Europe for the overall Orion mission. "You are all part of a great mission" he said during a team briefing session with Airbus employees. David Parker put the focus on the benefit that the European experience and know-how in several exploration programmes like ISS, ATV, ExoMArs or Rosetta can bring to the transatlantic partnership.
