Our approach to community impact

Community Impact is a key pillar of Airbus' social value ambition that focuses on fostering secure, resilient and thriving communities.

Our commitment is rooted in the conviction that being a global business requires being a dedicated local partner. We recognise that developments like climate change, poverty, and increasing inequality significantly impact many communities around the world.

To ensure our support is effective, we focus on providing communities with tools and solutions they design and own. This approach ensures that the benefits are scalable, durable, and that the benefits remain long after a project ends.

We focus our expertise and resources on two key areas where we can best enable positive change: enabling communities most exposed to humanitarian crises and climate change to adapt and build resilience; and widening youth access to essential future skills, which creates a ripple effect that can unlock greater economic opportunities.

Our channels for change

We bring our community impact ambition to life through various complementary channels that build on the strengths unique to our business - from our global reach, to our portfolio of high-tech products and services, to the expertise and enthusiasm of our employees.

Mobilising our aerospace capabilities via the Airbus Foundation

Through the Airbus Foundation, we channel Airbus' products, services, and expertise toward global humanitarian and environmental needs. In 2025, with our partners, we delivered 562 tonnes of aid and provided over 54,000 km² of satellite imagery for conservation and climate action.

We also co-design STEAM resources with educators to inspire youth through aerospace. Visit the Airbus Foundation website to see how these strategic partnerships optimise resources for system-level change.

Delivering local projects with our centralised grants programme

The Rise & Resilience Fund empowers vulnerable communities close to where we work to build lasting social value. In 2025, we reached over 23,000 people through 47 projects worldwide. Together with our partners, we equipped 5,358 young people with future-ready skills and helped close to 18,000 people build climate resilience through access to clean water and energy. By co-designing solutions for local ownership, we ensure positive change continues long after our initial partnership ends.

Driving shared value through business priorities

We focus on opportunities where business objectives and societal needs converge. For example, by quantifying the socio-economic value of sustainable aviation fuel, we aim to support rural development and capacity building for local farmers. We also prioritise carbon removal projects that deliver tangible social co-benefits for local communities. Alongside our HR teams, we widen access to skills that help the next generation navigate a changing workforce.
