I’ve always been attracted by technology making life easier and especially safer when it comes to transport of people. Our products are the result of our passion and pride and when we design the next generation of flight, we think about the passengers, who could be our family or friends.

Nadine is an aerospace enthusiast and passionate about innovation. Her career at Airbus started over 4 years ago, but her dream to work in the industry started when she was a child. “The flickering of the lights, the whirring sound of the airplane wings dazzles me every time I onboard a flight, and this is ever since I was very little.” – says Nadine.

Prior to joining Airbus, Nadine became the first female to graduate with a Master of Science in Computer and Communication Engineering with high grade of distinction from Lebanese International University at age of 20. Then over the course of 5 years, she took on a variety of roles across several industries like engineering, information communication technology, education, and international non-governmental organisations.

In 2017, Nadine was the first Lebanese selected from over 5,000 international applicants to onboard Airbus UK Graduate programme. She joined the Information Management team at Airbus Bristol. Since then, her career has taken off and she evolved in different roles, including Flight Physics Engineer for Loads and Aeroelastics - AlbatrossONE project to Wing Development & Landing Gear Programme Management Business Partner for the A350 Programme. In 2018, she joined Airbus Public and Government Affairs as an Engagement Programme Manager for Aerospace Growth Partnership and finished her scheme as A350 Braking & Controlling System Engineer in Landing Gear Technical Excellence. The working environment has been vital for Nadine to progress in her career. “I love many things about my job, but mostly I appreciate the values that Airbus holds. I strongly believe that the secret to professional success is firmly linked to passion, integrity, collaboration, and exploring opportunities beyond your role. At Airbus, you can find all these elements.”

Her strong interest for numbers and innovation research led her to become a Data Scientist in 2020, where she is now leading her own Performance Analytics team spread over Europe and India leveraging Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics tools to ensure global performance excellence of Airbus IT Operations. “I’ve always been attracted by technology making life easier and especially safer when it comes to transport of people. Our products are the result of our passion and pride and when we design the next generation of flight, we think about the passengers, who could be our family or friends. With this in mind, we feel a high-level of responsibility to produce impeccable aircrafts that not only are comfortable and eco-friendly but also most importantly safe.”

Nadine’s determined nature earned her Airbus Award of Excellence in 2019 for contributing with the Flight Physics team to set-up the flight test instrumentation of AlbatrossONE, an Airbus patented technology UAV. Despite her humble aerospace background, her strength and perseverance allowed her to find the right elements to contribute positively to the success of the project.

Beyond her extensive work across Airbus, Nadine is a champion and passionate for inclusion and diversity in the industry. She was one of the early founders and facilitators of Women in Aviation & Aerospace Charter (WiAAC) & Women in Defence Charter. Both Charters are supported by UK Government and Airbus UK with a clear commitment to creating a more balanced and fair industry for women. In 2020, Nadine was recognized as a role model for her work by 1 Million Women in STEM. Today, Nadine helps set-up Airbus Balance for Business Gender Diversity network in Bristol, provides reverse mentorship on racial diversity for a senior leader as part of Airbus UK Embrace network. Recently, she was nominated as an Airbus representative on Research, Reporting, and Thought Leadership work package of WiAAC. “I always wanted to be that person who wakes up with purpose and intent in life, who never gives up, and believes anything is possible if you work hard for it.” – concludes Nadine, proud of representing women in STEM.
