I had the opportunity to do two internships during my engineering studies at Airbus Canada. The people I worked with and the successful reputation of the A220 made me want to come back and be a permanent employee.

While completing her studies in aerospace engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, Simar had the opportunity to complete two internships at Airbus Canada - the first being in 2018 at the Customer Response Center and the second in 2019 in project management with the Quality team. Her positive and enriching experience with the company encouraged her to join the Airbus Canada family in 2022 as a project manager business partner (PMBR), a role she continues to maintain. Simar sat down with us to share more about her experience at Airbus, and to impart encouraging messages to other women interested in pursuing a career in engineering within the aerospace sector.

What is the most important advice you have been given, and is there any important advice you would like to give?
My supervisor once told me to resolve my problems piece by piece. I would like to give the same advice and to work on what we can control.
