Candice joined Airbus Blagnac site, near Toulouse, in 2017 as an Aeronautical Engineering Apprentice. During this time, she was in charge of implementing new tools in order to monitor a new Certification process within the Maintenance Program Engineering department. At the end of her apprenticeship, Candice successfully graduated as an Aerospace Engineer. From that moment her life at Airbus started as a professional employee and heading to a successful career path around the world.
She had the opportunity to fly overseas for another exciting challenge as she worked for Airbus Americas, Inc. as an “International Volunteer in Enterprise” (V.I.E.). This French program supported by the French Government allows French companies to entrust a young professional with a work experience assignment abroad for a period of time ranging from 6 to 24 months. For the first part of her program, Candice was a Technical and Business Support for the Airbus Denver Training Center. Today she integrated the Business Development Support for the Airbus Training Center in Miami and during these 18 months she is gaining a lot of experience and seeing many different aspects of the aeronautical business.
“I knew I wanted to work in the aeronautical field since I was very young. At 14 years-old, I completed my first work experience at the Air Traffic Control Towers of Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport and since then my dream of getting closer to aircrafts became more and more clear to me. Moreover, Airbus is part of the French heritage, and this makes me feel very proud, especially when admiring the A380 on flight. Airbus is an innovative company and has a worldwide presence - those are the first two factors that made me want to be part of the Airbus family.
Candice particularly appreciates the multicultural environment of her team and the possibility to travel around the world and experiencing different lives whilst being in the same company. “Open mindedness and adaptability are two essential skills to develop nowadays” – she says.
The most memorable experience that Candice had at Airbus was the inauguration event for BelugaXL. Seeing the participation and the shared emotion of all the employees watching this massive aircraft taking off for the very first time and carrying pieces of another aircraft was absolutely unforgettable. “I have always been very excited about the Beluga aircraft. And of course, I got even more enthusiastic when it came to an even bigger version of it! What I find amazing about the Beluga XL is its capacity of transporting up to two wings of the A350 XWB aircraft. And this event was particularly memorable to me because I realised the empathy and participation of all the Airbus employees, celebrating such a great achievement of one another. That is where I felt the proudest of being part of the Airbus Family and to which I will always be grateful.”
