Operating an Airbus H145 helicopter from their base in Durban, South Africa, Acher Aviation serves the offshore oil and gas industry’s air transportation needs.
For twenty years, the operator has provided select services such as hoist operations for offshore crew transfers and deck landings aboard tankers. In addition, Acher also manages a fleet of privately owned aircraft, and operates charter flights, a marine pilot service, and flights in support of mining and resource exploration. The H145 is the company’s newest addition to the fleet, having already effected 700 hours during its 18 months of operation.

Go along for the ride over Durban’s exciting coastline and the waters of the Indian Ocean, as Acher’s blue and white-livered H145 navigates the route from shore to tanker.
In the coastal environment of South Africa’s third-largest city, where annual temperatures range from 18 to 30 oC, the twin-engine H145’s power and performance are adapted to the rigours of its hundreds of flight hours per year. With daily operations that traverse Durban’s popular Golden Mile beaches and world-renowned surf sites, Acher’s choice in helicopter took in the H145’s good one-engine inoperative performance and Helionix avionics, safety attributes that contribute to the operator’s record of successful hoists and transports.
