The critical design final review board took place on June 16. No showstoppers were identified or raised during the design review but the meeting identified areas where additional analysis and work will be required. The results will be presented later to the review board.

Around 200 colleagues of NASA, ESA, Lockheed Martin and Airbus DS finally worked on the CDR completion. We worked carefully on hundreds of documents, numerous technical design items were discussed - and we made it and delivered our documentation on time. That was a huge success. We now are confident that the service module design is mature enough to move ahead with full-scale fabrication, assembly, integration and testing for Exploration Mission 1. ESA is targeting shipment of the service module to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida in April 2017.
