Pierre-Alexis – who was nominated this year in the “20 Under 35” list of outstanding young professionals and entrepreneurs to keep an eye on in the coming years by the Space & Satellite Professionals International – has always been driven by passion and determination during his incredible career path.
He joined the Airbus Group in 2011 after completing a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business. He began as a Strategy Manager in the Innovation Department in France before going on to become R&T Manager in Canada, where he led the creation of the Airbus Innovation Center in the country.
“I feel very privileged to have started my career at Airbus. I had the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues, to work on several continents and sectors, and to live my passion every day. Airbus empowers people, has strong values and the first one is key: we are one!”
Since the beginning, Pierre-Alexis has lived and worked in several countries outside France, always moving out of his comfort zone and looking to discover and learn from new cultures, people and ideas.
“I’m convinced that to make things move, you have to challenge the status quo, go out of your comfort zone and build bridges between people. That’s what I try to do every day, by helping my colleagues and by becoming the leader that inspires others to take actions.”
He then moved to the Intelligence Division as a KAM in Canada and as Future Programs Manager in Germany, where he developed business cases and partnerships for the next generation of radar satellites. He recently joined the Sales & Marketing Department as a Business Growth Manager for Space Systems and is now responsible for the Asian and North American regions.
Outside of work, Pierre-Alexis has been spending much time and energy in international professional associations, including the IAF- International Astronautical Federation, the Space Generation Advisory Council, the Techstars Starburst Space Accelerator and the network “My Job Glasses”, in which he serves as a mentor to business schools’ students.
“I’m also engaged in professional associations to help the next generation and young professionals all over the world to join the space sector, engage with the global space community and foster international collaboration on space programs. I also support mentoring students in their early career choices through the platform “My Job Glasses” – says Pierre-Alexis.
In his free time, Pierre-Alexis enjoys travelling, discovering new cultures and meeting a diverse range of people. “Every destination has something unique to teach and immersing yourself in a completely different world is the best experience. Building relationships and understanding different points of view broaden your own horizon. During my studies and currently at Airbus, I’ve always been in an international environment and this is key to understanding global challenges.”
