Our purpose in action
Could hydrogen fuel-cell systems be the solution for emission-free aviation?
Products & Services
The holy grail of aircraft propulsion is to provide power without any emissions. One of the most promising candidates is the hydrogen fuel-cell. Here we explain how Airbus and its partners are helping to drive the technology forward to be ready for flight demonstrations.
Airbus prepares for its first megawatt-class hydrogen fuel-cell engine flight-test demonstrator…
Hydrogen-powered fuel-cell engine architecture with cryogenic storage could feature in an all-new zero-emission aircraft which will enter service by 2035. Airbus is already well on track to design, build and demonstrate such a megawatt-class propulsion system, in under four years from now…
The Moon in our sights
As the Orion spacecraft continues its historic mission around the Moon powered by the Airbus-built European Service Module (ESM), our engineers are already looking ahead to the future ‘lunar ecosystem’ – which is expected to represent a market value in the billions of euros during the next 20 years.
Meet Charles-Alexis, High Lift System Engineer for A220 Family Aircrafts
Charles-Alexis started his career working on the A220 certification and development on the Engineering hydraulic integration team and then moved as group lead for the A220 High Lift integration team in 2016. As part of his role, Charles-Alexis is currently in the development process to become a certification Design Approval Designee as part of the Airbus Canada Design Approval Organization.
