Approximately 7,000 employees work at Airbus in the U.S., where the company’s presence includes 42 sites comprising corporate offices; innovation, engineering and training centers; robotics and manufacturing sites; and maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities.
In addition to its growing aircraft manufacturing operations in Mobile, Alabama, and its three assembly lines for the A220 and A320 families, Airbus also builds advanced composite structures in Kinston, North Carolina, for the A350 – including the central section panels, the wing front spar and the fixed leading edge.
Airbus assembles and retrofits civil and military helicopters in Columbus, Mississippi, and produces satellites on Florida’s Space Coast.
As the largest export customer of the U.S. aerospace industry, Airbus supports more than 275,000 American jobs through its annual spending of over $15 billion with more than 2,000 suppliers across 40+ U.S. states.

Commercial Aircraft in the United States
Airbus has more than 2,000 employees in its aircraft production and engineering facilities in Alabama. The first Mobile-made aircraft, an A321, was delivered in 2016, and the site has since produced more than 500 aircraft, including the A220 and A320 Family.
Joining the existing A220 and A320 Family production lines, a second A320 Family assembly line opened in October 2025, creating 1,000 new jobs for the Gulf Coast region.
The company’s newest U.S. site, Airbus Aerosystems Kinston (North Carolina), builds advanced composite structures for the A350, including central section panels, the wing front spar and the fixed leading edge.

Airbus provides helicopter solutions to customers across the country.
More than 1,700 helicopters have been produced at the Columbus, Mississippi assembly line by a workforce that is 35%+ U.S. military veterans.
There are 3,350+ helicopters in service with 800+ operators in North America, covering missions such as airborne law enforcement, helicopter emergency medical services, air tourism, public services, offshore energy and business fleets.

Its Space and Defense operations span multiple locations nationwide, including Arlington, VA (U.S. Headquarters), Denver and Fort Collins, CO, Houston, TX, Merritt Island, FL, Huntsville, AL, Plano, TX, and Mobile, AL, where Airbus supports military aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul.
At its Merritt Island facility on Florida’s Space Coast, Airbus produces satellites such as the ARROW platform, an innovative, responsive and affordable spacecraft designed for communications, earth observation and in-orbit technology demonstration missions.
Across the United States, Airbus serves national security and defense customers through a portfolio that combines space systems, fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft and secure network capabilities.

Building the future, NOW
Acubed, Airbus' Research and Innovation Center based in Silicon Valley (California), is a fast-paced machine that accelerates AI and automation adoption to increase Airbus' global competitive advantage.
Additionally, Airbus Robotics in Mukilteo, Washington, is focused on expanding advanced robotics capabilities in the manufacturing process while simultaneously optimizing time and cost efficiencies.
Airbus Engineering in the United States
Design and Analysis
The first Airbus engineering facility outside of Europe opened in Kansas in 2002. The engineering team in Wichita is dedicated to delivering high-quality commercial aerostructure design and analysis, working on every Airbus commercial aircraft in production.
In 2007, the second U.S.-based engineering facility for Airbus opened in Alabama. The Mobile team focused on aircraft cabin and systems designs. Among the specializations at this facility are teams that focus on seats and in-flight entertainment, stress and flammability, and upgrade services.
