Preparing for course registration

When our technician and pilot courses are in English, our customers can complete a short self-assessment. If you are not sure if you have the required level of English, we recommend that you complete this assessment when you register for your course. The assessment is available to all students via our Learning Management System.

Technical English for technicians

The English level of all Airbus Helicopters’ technician training courses is targeted at:

  • Scores of 605-780 or equivalent for the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) 
  • Scores of 44-59 or equivalent for the Business Language Testing Service (BULATS)

Students should be able to read, write and communicate in English using the appropriate technical vocabulary as written in the helicopter maintenance documentation.

Technical English for pilots

The English level of all Airbus Helicopters’ technician training courses is:

  • Level 4 (Operational Level) for ICAO (the International Civil Aviation Organization)
  • Level 5 for the International English Testing System (IELTS)
  • Scores of 605-780 for the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)

Students should be able to read, write and communicate in English using the appropriate technical vocabulary as written in the helicopter maintenance documentation.
