Kick-off for celebrating 100 years of aeronautics in the Saint-Nazaire area!
On Monday, January 23rd, under a bright sun, over 200 employees from the Airbus Atlantic site in Saint-Nazaire gathered to form the number 100! This group photo announces the start of a series of activities and animations such as photo exhibitions, conferences, fly-past… organised for their employees all year long by the Airbus Atlantic sites in Saint-Nazaire and Montoir-de-Bretagne, to mark the 100th anniversary of aeronautics in the Saint-Nazaire area.
The history of aeronautics in the area dates back to 1923, when the first aircraft took flight in the region. Over the years, the industry has grown and evolved, becoming a major player in the local economy and a symbol of innovation and progress. Today, the Airbus Atlantic sites in Saint-Nazaire and Montoir-de-Bretagne carry on this tradition by participating in the production of state-of-the-art aircraft such as the A320, A330, A350, A400M, F10X and A220.
The turnout for the photo shows the motivation of the teams from both our sites for this great project and sets the tone for what promises to be an exciting year. A great thank you to the many volunteers who helped organise the many projects to celebrate this centenary throughout the year. 2023 marks a significant milestone not only for the aeronautics industry, but also for the employees who have worked with dedication over the past 100 years to make it what it is today.
