Seville, 13.04.2020 – The Airbus A400M new-generation airlifter ordered by the Luxembourg Armed Forces has made its maiden flight, marking a key milestone towards its delivery. The aircraft, known as MSN104, took off from Seville (Spain), where the final assembly line is located, at 16:08 local time (CET) and landed back on site 5 hours later.

 

The Luxembourg aircraft will be operated by the armed forces of Belgium and Luxembourg within a binational unit based in Belgium. MSN104 is scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2020.

L’avion de transport de nouvelle génération A400M d’Airbus, commandé par l’Armée luxembourgeoise a effectué son vol inaugural, franchissant une étape clé en vue de sa prochaine livraison. L’exemplaire MSN104 a décollé à 16h08 de Séville (Espagne), où se trouve la chaîne d’assemblage final, avant de revenir s’y poser 5 heures plus tard.

Der Airbus A400M Lufttransporter der neuen Generation für die Streitkräfte Luxemburgs hat seinen Erstflug absolviert und damit eine wichtige Phase in Richtung Auslieferung abgeschlossen. Das Flugzeug mit der Produktionsnummer MSN104 hob um 16:08 Uhr Ortszeit (MEZ) in Sevilla (Spanien) ab, wo sich die Endmontagelinie befindet, und landete 5 Stunden später am selben Ort.
