Airbus launched the ZEROe demonstrator in 2022 to mature hydrogen combustion technology on an A380 flight test platform.

ZEROe demonstrator powered by the hydrogen combustion engine

The hydrogen combustion engine is powered by the 4 liquid hydrogen tanks located in a caudal position of the A380 test platform.
