What is your current role and where are you based?
Based in China, I lead Marketing for our helicopters in the region. We work closely with customers to demonstrate how our helicopters can achieve missions that may seem impossible, from operational performance to optimal value delivery. During the helicopter sales process, our team represents Airbus while ensuring the customer’s voice is heard within the company.
Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire. (Arnold H. Glasow)
How long have you been working at Airbus?
I’ve spent 13 years at Airbus and every moment has been incredibly rewarding. I started in the training department overseeing simulation training for pilots - and learnt to fly our helicopters. I transitioned to marketing, promoting our full range of products worldwide, particularly the H160 helicopter.
Concerning the beginning of your career path at Airbus - what was the main drive that led
you to apply and be part of this company?
My passion for aviation and space exploration was the driving force. As a kid, I dreamt of becoming an astronaut but due to my daltonism, becoming a pilot wasn’t an option. Joining Airbus enabled me to fulfil a part of my dream, as I was able to fly helicopter simulators. As my career progressed, I even had the chance to sit in the copilot seat alongside some of the best helicopter pilots in the world, bringing me closer to my childhood aspirations.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I love the global connections my job fosters. The world feels like a vast board game where everyone - regardless of gender, nationality, or background - has a role to play. At Airbus, I’ve met colleagues from all corners of the world, each driven by the same passion that motivates me. Airbus creates an environment that promotes collaboration and innovation, bringing diverse talents together to push the boundaries of aerospace.
Tell us about one of the most memorable experiences from your career at Airbus. What made it so special and unforgettable?
Every stage of my career has been memorable. From certifying my first helicopter simulator with an aviation authority to delivering my first aircraft to a customer, each moment has pushed me to grow. One of the most unforgettable experiences was flying the H160 helicopter in the Moroccan desert, a true highlight of my journey at Airbus.
What is the most important advice you have been given, and is there any important advice you would like to give?
The best advice I've received is to listen and learn before trying to prove yourself.
I had the privilege of working with incredibly knowledgeable colleagues, and the best thing I could do was to sit back and absorb what they had to offer. It’s like playing music: you must learn to play others’ music before playing your own. This approach is especially important with customers and suppliers, as their insights often help us make better decisions.
My advice is the same: listen first, and always be open to learning from others.
What is the most important message you would like to send out to women considering a career in the aeronautic industry?
My message for women considering a career in aeronautics is to believe in your capabilities and pursue your passion with confidence. The aerospace sector offers unlimited opportunities for growth, innovation, and impact, and your unique perspective is invaluable. Airbus is a place that values diversity and inclusion, where your contributions can shape the future of aviation. Don’t hesitate to take on challenges, seek mentorship, and be a trailblazer in this dynamic and exciting field.
In what way do the values of Airbus relate to your own?
Airbus’s commitment to pioneering the future inspires me, as it gives us the chance to be bold and innovative while upholding integrity, respect and reliability. This aligns perfectly with my belief in pushing boundaries.
Teamwork is another core value that speaks to me deeply. As I often say, “Alone you can go faster, but together we can go further.” Collaboration is key to achieving lasting success.
Growing up in my parent’s art gallery, I learned the importance of customer focus early on. It’s ingrained in me and, after all, customers are the ones who fuel our work and make everything we do possible.
Do you have any hobbies? How do you enjoy spending your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy staying active through sport, as it’s a great way to challenge myself and push my boundaries. I practise football, Thai boxing and I dance, all of which keep me energised and motivated. I also enjoy time away from the phone to read books during long plane trips, (not being a big fan of in-flight connectivity :) ). I also love travelling with my family where we can explore new cultures, savour different cuisines, and embark on exciting adventures together. It’s a perfect balance of staying active and enjoying life’s experience.
