Toulouse, France, 1 October 2026 – Airbus has joined forces with 18 industrial and academic partners(1) to develop skills and transform vocational training in the aerospace sector.
As a winner of the France 2030 "Compétences et Métiers d'Avenir" (Skills and Professions of the Future) programme, operated by the Banque des Territoires on behalf of the French State, this consortium aims to coordinate and revitalise efforts across the sector to attract more candidates, and train the operators and technicians who will support the production ramp-up, decarbonisation, and digital transformation of the aerospace industry.
Airbus will particularly invest in the construction of a new campus, "campus eOle", which will house the Airbus vocational school (Lycée Airbus) and the Airbus Cybersecurity School at the entrance of its Saint-Martin-du-Touch site.
The future campus is expected to open its doors just in time for the start of the academic year in September 2029, and will have a capacity of up to 1,000 people (pupils, students, and teaching staff). This campus will enable a gradual increase in the number of learners and graduate about 450 students per year (CAP, Bac Pro, BTS, Aeronautics Specialisation Certificates, and Cybersecurity training) who will be ready to join Airbus and its partners.
This project, which benefits from state funding under the France 2030 plan, will be carried out in accordance with Airbus environmental commitments and will notably feature an innovative bioclimatic design for the building. Preparatory work began in summer 2026, ahead of the start of structural work scheduled for spring 2027.
(1) The consortium brings together 15 companies (Airbus, Airbus Operations, Airbus Atlantic, Airbus Defence and Space, Airbus Helicopters, Airplane Delivery, ATR, Daher, Derichebourg, Laroche Group, Mecachrome, Safran Power Units, Satys, Tarmac Aerosave, Testia), two training organisations (the Lycée Airbus and the CFAI in Beauzelle), as well as the Occitanie Campus of Professions and Qualifications of Excellence for Aerospace (CMQE AS).
