Airbus continues to strengthen its cybersecurity activities. To keep up with our quest for excellence and innovation, we created the Airbus Cybersecurity School in September 2022 to train our future talents in the early stages of their academic journey. We are offering the opportunity to follow a comprehensive and immersive work-study apprenticeship programme in the field of cybersecurity and aerospace, which means alternating between being a student of the Airbus Cybersecurity School and being part of our operational teams (Digital & IM, Corporate Security, etc.).

A cutting-edge work-study experience. We offer a unique tuition-free apprenticeship that blends academic prestige with hands-on operational roles. In partnership with Ynov Campus, you will complete a 3-year training programme preparing you for the 'Expert in Cybersecurity' title (RNCP40897 Title, Level 7). This programme includes a strong international dimension, with a mandatory 4-month professional experience abroad during the second year of the Master’s (M2).

The following competencies will be developed during this programme:

Apply cybersecurity to aerospace: Ensure cybersecurity on all aerospace information systems and production infrastructure.

Contribute to cybersecurity compliance: Deploy cybersecurity standard rules and programming to secure information systems in the company. 

Manage a secured information system: Manage IT security and production tools, systems, and softwares in the company. 

Ensure the security of an information system: Identify weaknesses and related risks to support decision making and build remediation plans.

Master the cybersecurity communication: Deploy cybersecurity awareness and accompaniment to ensure security culture across the company.

Eligibility

Academic requirements: Candidates must currently be completing or have validated a Level 5 qualification or higher in the field of computer science (BUT in Computer Science, BTS SIO, BTS CIEL/SN, or equivalent). By applying, they commit to a 3-year curriculum leading to the obtention of the RNCP Expert in Cybersecurity title (Level 7).

Candidate Profile (Hard & Soft Skills):

  • Technical Foundation: Applicants possess a strong IT culture, including networking, information systems management, and an analytical mindset.
  • Soft Skills: Candidates demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a multinational environment, combined with intellectual curiosity and strong interpersonal skills.
  • A Passion for Aerospace: A keen interest in Airbus products and industrial challenges, driven by a clear spirit of innovation.
  • Languages: English: Advanced level required (essential, as a portion of the curriculum is taught in English).
    • French: Fluent.
  • French nationality is not a prerequisite.

Selection process: Applications open in the spring each year via the Airbus Careers online application platform.

  1. Application Review: Your profile is analysed by a recruiter.

  2. Choice of 3 opportunities: If your profile is selected, you will be invited to choose and apply for 3 opportunities from our panel of offers.
  3. On-demand Video Interview: If your profile is validated by Airbus Security Officers, you will participate in this digital stage (Hirevue).
  4. School Pre-selection: Video submissions are reviewed and shared with the Airbus Cybersecurity School team.
  5. Selection Interviews: Shortlisted candidates meet with the school, followed by interviews with operational managers and future tutors.

What is the duration of the programme?

It is a full-time work-study 3-year apprenticeship programme.

What is the minimum level of education required to access this training?

This programme is open to candidates currently in the process of preparing for, or having already validated, a Level 5 (or higher) qualification or diploma in the field of computer science (BUT in Computer Science, BTS SIO, BTS CIEL/SN, or equivalent).

How is the training organised?

After an initial period of 6 weeks of classes in first year (Bachelor 3), you will then alternate between several weeks of apprenticeship training in our operational teams and several weeks of classes.

Who teaches the classes?

The classes are taught by cybersecurity specialists and experts from Airbus and other leading industries who are experts in the technical fields and have teaching skills.

Where does the training take place?

Classes take place at the Airbus Cybersecurity School in Toulouse and Ynov Campus Toulouse.

How many students will take part in this training?

This work-study programme is open to around twenty students per year.

Is this programme officially recognised by the French State?

This training prepares students for the Expert in Cybersecurity Title, registered in the National Directory of Professional Certifications (RNCP) under number 40897 at Level 7 and recognised by the State.

What opportunities does this apprenticeship training in cybersecurity open for me?

This apprenticeship training will open a wide range of opportunities within Airbus for you. 

Graduates of the programme can aspire to roles such as Cybersecurity ​Analyst, ​Security Operations Centre (SOC) operator, System and network security administrator, Junior Pentester, Cybersecurity audit report operator and Security coordinator.

Do I need French nationality to follow this programme?

French nationality is not a prerequisite.

In which languages are the classes taught?

The classes are taught partly in French and partly in English, candidates must, therefore, have a fluent and professional level of French and an advanced level of English.
