Airbus upgrade JetBlue A320 with advanced cockpit

Orlando, United States, 21 April 2026 – Airbus has signed an agreement with JetBlue to upgrade cockpit display systems on part of its A320 fleet. The agreement was signed at MRO Americas.

The contract includes the installation of Enhanced Electronic Instrument System (EEIS2) displays on 46 aircraft, supporting JetBlue’s continued fleet modernisation, harmonisation, and long-term operational strategy.

EEIS2 replaces legacy cockpit displays with high-resolution LCD technology, improving pilot visual interface and system capabilities while establishing the technical foundation for future avionics upgrades. EEIS2 equipment is designed and supplied by Thales and integrated by Airbus.

As a prerequisite for next-generation systems aligned with the latest Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) roadmap, the upgrade enables a better visualisation of information, and can support advanced functions such as satellite or ground-based landing systems, or improved weather radar capabilities. These improvements provide pilots with clearer, more timely operational data and improved situational awareness in high traffic airspace environments.

EEIS2 supports a more harmonised cockpit environment across fleets and creates a pathway for additional performance and operational enhancements over time.

This agreement with JetBlue reinforces Airbus’ long-term commitment to North American airline customers and its role in supporting the evolution of in-service fleets through its Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) expertise and wide portfolio of services.

JetBlue operates one of the largest Airbus fleets in North America, including A320 Family and A220 aircraft, and continues to invest in technologies that enhance operational efficiency and the passenger experience.
