Our presence in the region
Airbus in Latin America has over 1,300 employees located at 17 sites across five countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico. Airbus has been present in the region for more than 45 years, making it one of its oldest markets and sourcing partners.
Airbus has an annual global sourcing spend of over $860 million in Latin America. Thanks to the strong endorsement of new and existing customers and governments, its efficient portfolio continues to shape the aerospace industry in Latin America.

More than 800 Airbus aircraft are in operation with airlines in Latin America, over 1,400 helicopters and 110 military aircraft provide transport support, surveillance and life-saving capability to the region.

Commercial Aircraft in Latin America
Our products & services
Airbus has sold over 1,300 aircraft, with over 500 in the backlog and around 800 in operation throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 1994, Airbus has secured approximately 75% of net orders in the region.
To provide its Latin American and Caribbean customers with proximity and efficient service, Airbus has established an office in Miami and placed more than 20 field service representatives and three training centres throughout the region.

Helicopters in Latin America
Our products & services
Airbus Helicopters has nearly a five-decade presence in Latin America. With a fleet of over 1,400 rotorcraft in service, Airbus helicopters make up nearly a third of the operating fleet in this area of the world. For the last ten years, Airbus has been the market leader with 49% of the deliveries.
The Airbus customer centre network provides continuous support for its operators in the region, supported by accredited network of maintenance centres. Airbus Helicopters offers training for technicians and pilots.

Defence in Latin America
Our products & services
Through its Military Aircraft business line, Airbus Defence and Space has had a long-standing presence in Latin America, beginning in the late 1970s.
Airbus has delivered around150 transport aircraft from its C212, CN235 and C295 product lines. Today, more than 110 aircraft are in operation in 16 countries across the region.

Space in Latin America
Our products & services
Airbus builds satellites that keep Latin America connected and provide space-eye views on the region for both civil and military applications.
Airbus built the first Earth Observation System ever launched for Latin America: the Chilean satellite system FaSat Charlie, followed by the PerúSAT-1 - a 430 kg. - class satellite developed for a wide range of applications ranging from homeland security and border monitoring to disaster management and environmental protection.
Decarbonisation efforts in the region
Airbus is actively pursuing the decarbonization of the aviation industry in Latin America with a multifaceted approach centered on collaboration and innovation.
Key initiatives include a study with LATAM Airlines and the MIT which analyses options for decarbonization for for six countries in the region; ICAO ACT-SAF feasibility studies in Argentina, Mexico, Panama, and Peru; contributing to Chile's Vuelo Limpio program and to Colombia’s SAF Roadmap development. In Mexico, Airbus has organized contests seeking to generate research projects focused on scaling SAF production.

Community impact
The Airbus Foundation has contributed to Latin America and the Caribbean through a combination of disaster relief and community-focused initiatives. Disaster relief efforts have included +10 commercial aircraft ferry flights delivering humanitarian aid and +15 missions utilizing Airbus helicopters, which have provided over 400 hours for search and rescue operations, firefighting, and transporting essential goods.
Airbus has also implemented 11 Community Impact projects in the region with local NGOs such as TECHO, CIEDS, Fundacion Astronautas among others and raised funds to support disaster relief efforts alongside employees. And executed eight editions of the Discovery Space program, benefiting +1,200 children in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico.
