Located in Marignane, the Airbus Helicopters Training Academy in Marignane, France has honed the skills of more than 14,000 pilots and technicians over the past 10 years – confirming its position as a reference in helicopter training. In addition to this, there is also an Airbus Helicopters Training Academy in Bordeaux, training around 1000 pilots and technicians every year.

Airbus Helicopters Training Academy's mission is to offer customers services that are best suited to their specific needs, allowing them to perform missions safely and efficiently.
The Marignane facility includes a 2,200-square-metre building that houses the maintenance hangar – allowing more than 2,000 technicians per year to get hands-on practice on full-scale mock-ups. The facility continuously introduces and improves computer-based training tools, and strives to integrate powerful and cost-effective solutions to traditional teaching methods.
The cutting-edge Helionix trainer plays a central role in enabling key capabilities for all Helionix aircraft for both pilots and technicians. Together with Helisim, pilots gain the confidence and expertise needed to safely pilot.
In addition to ground instruction and simulators, flight training averages around 2,000 flight hours per year. The Training Academy France also has the EMAR/FR147 approval for military maintenance training courses for the Tiger and NH90.

Airbus Helicopters Training Academy in Bordeaux
Approved by Airbus Helicopters in 2016, this training Academy works with 34 aeronautical players in the rotor and fixed-wing sectors to implement training programmes such as Novae, Priority 1 Air Rescue, Speaking Corners, Wecair, Telespazio, etc.
The Bordeaux training centre is equipped with innovative means such as simulators and VR tools available for training.
The facility also offers :
- Hands-on maintenance courses specifically designed and produced to reduce the time required to complete operational tasks by tailoring a programme for technicians.
- A full range of technician training courses from AB Initio to complex military or civilian training.
- PART 147 type rating courses for Super PUMA L2, PUMA J, H120, AS355 helicopters.
- EMAR 147 type rating courses for PUMA and AS 532
- Sheet metal and composite repair courses from basic to advanced (fixed wing and helicopter)
