Proven experience in tactical reconnaissance
OPERATIONAL REFERENCE
The KZO (Kleinfluggerät Zielortung) was a tactical unmanned aerial system developed for the German Army to deliver real-time reconnaissance and target localisation.
Over its service life, the system supported numerous missions, demonstrating Airbus’ depth of experience in land-force operations.
Although now decommissioned, Airbus continues to provide spares and logistical support for the KZO through Airbus DS Airborne Solutions (ADAS) until its replacement by the Luna NG.
Enhancing situational awareness on the ground
TACTICAL INTELLIGENCE
The KZO was designed for short-range intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, and providing live data and imagery to ground command units. Its integration within the German Army’s ADLER network highlighted Airbus’ ability to link unmanned platforms with complex command-and-control systems for timely battlefield awareness.
Sustaining legacy systems with trusted expertise
ONGOING SUPPORT
The KZO programme embodies Airbus’ long-standing commitment to reliable tactical unmanned operations. Though a legacy system, Airbus DS Airborne Solutions (ADAS) continues to provide sustainment and support for existing KZO systems. And, experience gained from KZO continues to inform Airbus’ next-generation UAS development and operational support services today.
