Korean Air signs for Airbus’ S. Fleet Performance+ service

Signature ceremony Korean Air and Airbus for SFP+ during MRO Europe 2025

London, United Kingdom, 16 October 2025 - Korean Air has signed an agreement to implement Airbus’ S. Fleet Performance+ (S.FP+) solution across its entire Airbus fleet, marking a significant step forward in the airline’s digital transformation strategy and reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence.

The announcement was made during the MRO Europe 2025 event in London, underscoring the importance of data-driven solutions in the aviation industry.

Under the agreement, Korean Air’s Airbus fleet, including A321neo, A330, A350, and A380 aircraft, will be supported by the “Control” tier of the S.FP+ solution, the highest and most comprehensive level of service available, gaining access to the complete suite of predictive and prescriptive maintenance capabilities offered by Airbus.

As the top-tier offering within S.FP+, the “Control” package brings advanced features to maximise aircraft availability, dispatch reliability, and overall fleet performance. For aircraft dispatch, it enables pre-departure check support, alongside intelligent troubleshooting tools powered by natural language processing. To improve aircraft availability, S.FP+ “Control” leverages advanced data collection (ADC) predictive models. Reliability is strengthened through advanced fleet monitoring capabilities that support proactive decision-making across technical operations. In terms of operational performance, a customisable “Control” dashboard provides real-time insights, while Airbus offers 24/7 technical support to ensure fast and effective onboarding.

“Korean Air’s decision to implement the ‘Control’ tier of S. Fleet Performance+ is a strong endorsement of Airbus’ digital services,” said Raymond Lim, Head of Customer Services Asia-Pacific at Airbus. “This collaboration highlights our shared commitment to innovation, and we are proud to support Korean Air in unlocking new levels of operational reliability through data-driven maintenance.”

“As one of the most digitally mature airlines in the region, Korean Air has already achieved significant results through its predictive maintenance strategy. In 2024, the airline prevented over 100 operational interruptions (OIs) using a combination of predictive tools,” said Jong Hoon Oh, Head of the Predictive Maintenance Team at Korean Air. “With the integration of the S.FP+ solution, we will not only enhance these results but also establish a critical, unified maintenance platform for our expanded fleet following the integration with Asiana Airlines.”

S.FP+ is powered by the Airbus Skywise Core Platform, which integrates data from multiple sources to provide actionable insights that help airlines anticipate unscheduled maintenance events and prioritise actions based on operational and economic impact.
