Hengqin, 12 August 2025 – Airbus Helicopters has delivered the first H160 helicopter in China to GDAT, enabling the start of H160 operations in the country. This helicopter is one of the fifty H160 helicopters originally ordered by GDAT in April 2023, and five out of these fifty H160 helicopters have been delivered to GDAT.
The aircraft will be used most notably for the energy sector, including offshore transportation for oil and gas platforms, wind farms and harbour piloting, as well as emergency medical services and other municipal public service missions.
“We are proud to be the first to receive the brand new H160 helicopter in China. The introduction of this aircraft continues GDAT’s long term commitment to providing state-of-the-art helicopter technology to both the Chinese market and those around the world, and underlines our commitment to the safety, quality and efficiency of our operations,” said Peter JIANG, Chairman of GDAT.
“The H160 sets a new standard for medium class helicopters worldwide and we are thrilled to welcome the first one into the Chinese market, providing our customer base with a cutting-edge solution in this sector," said Colin James, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in China.
The H160 is one of the world’s most technologically advanced helicopters, designed and built to deliver the highest levels of operational safety while providing unmatched comfort for rotorcraft in its class. Capable of performing wide-ranging missions including law enforcement, offshore transportation, search and rescue, private and business aviation, and emergency medical services, the H160 has entered into service in Brazil, Canada, France, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, U.K., U.S. and many other European countries.
