To be hired as a Skilled Fitter within our factory in Broughton, you must submit your application through our contingent work partner, Guidant, on their website. There are opportunities to work day and night shifts, both shifts with competitive rates of pay.
To apply at the skilled level, you must have gone through:
- a Full Apprenticeship in Aerospace or relevant discipline;
- previous experience in a similar role such as Sheet Metal Worker, Metal Fabricator, Welder, Mechanical Fitter or as a HVAC Technician;
- You must also hold one of the following qualifications:
- an Indenture and City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC ONC or Modern Apprenticeship Certificate, NVQ Level 2, 3, Key Skills level 2 and City & Guilds Level 2/BTEC ONC in a recognised field.
You’ll also need a good level of physical fitness, an awareness of Health, Safety, and Human Factors, and good communication skills.

- Skilled Aircraft Electricians: You will be responsible for the "nervous system" of our aircraft. Your role involves installing, testing, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems, ensuring every connection is flawless for the A320, A330, and A350 fleets.
- Skilled Machinists & Toolmakers: Precision is your trade. You will use advanced CNC and manual equipment to produce high-tolerance components or maintain the critical jigs and fixtures that keep our production lines moving.
- Skilled Aircraft Painters: You provide the finish that protects our wings in the harshest environments, applying high-performance aviation coatings with expert technique.
About Broughton
Broughton site has been a key location in the history of Airbus, and has manufactured iconic aircraft such as the Wellington, Lancaster, Mosquito, and the Comet. It is now home to the wing production for Airbus’ A320, A330, and A350 aircraft and a 6,000 person team of fitters, engineers, and supporting functions.
The Airbus site is within easy reach of Chester, Wrexham, Birkenhead, Liverpool and Warrington.
