Abra Group discloses order for 50 A320neo Family aircraft and five Airbus A350-900

Miami, United States, 16 October 2025 – Abra Group, the holding company that controls Avianca and Gol and is a strategic investor in Wamos Air, has disclosed an incremental order for 50 A320neo aircraft and five A350-900s which were previously announced in 2024 as a Memorandum of Understanding. This order is part of the Group’s fleet growth strategy, aimed at enhancing connectivity to new destinations within the Americas and to Europe.
The A350 is the world’s most modern and efficient widebody aircraft and the long range leader in the 300-410 seat category, flying efficiently from short-haul to ultra-long-haul routes up to 9,700nm. Its clean sheet design includes state-of-the-art technologies, aerodynamics, lightweight materials and latest generation engines that together deliver unmatched performance even from challenging airports, 25% advantage in fuel burn, operating costs and CO₂ emissions, as well as 50% noise reduction compared to previous generation competitor aircraft.
The A320neo Family incorporates the latest technologies, including new-generation engines, Sharklets and cabin efficiency enablers, which together deliver 20% fuel savings compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. Avianca is set to receive its first A320neo with Airspace cabin in 2025. This will feature a cutting-edge interior that prioritises comfort, space. The new cabin features XL Bins which offer a 60% increase in overhead storage space. Passengers will also enjoy an enhanced sense of personal space thanks to newly designed window bezels and sidewalls, complemented by dynamic lighting themes that can be tailored to different flight phases.
This announcement brings the total number of A320neo Family aircraft ordered by the Abra Group to 150 with a delivery backlog of 138. Today, more than 150 Airbus aircraft are in-service with the airlines composed by the Abra Group.
Airbus has sold over 1,300 aircraft in Latin America and the Caribbean and has a leading market share of in-service passenger aircraft. Over 850 are in operation throughout the region, with over 470 in the order backlog. Since 1994, Airbus has secured 75% of net orders in the region.
At the end of September, Airbus had sold over 19,300 and delivered over 12,250 A320 Family aircraft. Airbus also has an order book of 1,445 A350s, of which 675 have been delivered.
