Airbus highlights wide product line and partnerships at LIMA 2017
SINGAPORE, 13 March 2017 – Airbus will showcase its extensive range of products, cutting-edge capabilities, and strong industrial partnerships in Malaysia via a high-profile presence at next week’s Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA). The 14th edition of LIMA will take place at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre, Langkawi, Malaysia, on 21-25 March 2017.
A Malaysia Airlines (MAB) Airbus A380 and a Royal Malaysian Air Force A400M airlifter will be among the highlights of the flying display on the opening day. The static display will feature a MAB A330-300 widebody passenger aircraft, as well as the RMAF’s A400M and CN235 light transport aircraft.
Also at the static display, the company’s leadership in Malaysia’s rotorcraft market will be underscored by the presence of a RMAF EC725 Caracal, a Royal Malaysian Navy AS555SN Fennec, as well as the popular AS365, H130 and H135 models. The AS365 and an AS355 helicopter will also thrill visitors as part of the flying display.
At the Airbus exhibition stand (HB355), visitors can get information on the company’s entire product line. This includes the most comprehensive commercial aircraft family, ranging from 100 to over 600 seats. Scale models of the A350 XWB and A330neo will be on display.
Also at the stand will be models of the Zephyr high-altitude pseudo-satellite, C295 maritime patrol aircraft, and H175 and H145M helicopters. There will also be presentations on the Styris coastal surveillance solution, and the HForce weapon system fitted onto the H125M, H145M and H225M.
Malaysia is a key strategic market for Airbus. To date the company has sold over 700 aircraft to the country’s airlines, more than 100 helicopters are in service in Malaysia, and four A400M military transport aircraft have now been delivered. Airbus also has a major industrial presence in the country. “Made in Malaysia” parts fly on the entire Airbus civil aircraft product line (the A320 Family, A330neo, A350 XWB, and A380), the A400M and the H130 helicopter.
