What is your name, job title, and where are you based?
I’m Patrycja and I am based in Warsaw, Poland, working as a Harness Assembler since October 2009.
Define your job title in one sentence
I make electrical harnesses for the Airbus C295 and A330 aircraft.
What’s one thing that makes your job exciting or special?
The product! I feel the full sense of responsibility and excitement. It is not a very feminine job so I treat this as recognition.
What inspired you to join Airbus?
I came across from the referral program - I was recommended by my aunt, who worked here and was satisfied. She also worked in the harnesses department.
Is there something that surprised you about working for Airbus?
Great experience being part of a space project. I miss this project.
Explain what you do in simple terms
We make electrical harnesses for aircraft, from wing harnesses, cabin harnesses, engine harnesses. We work in accordance with the technology and standards applicable to the production of a particular aircraft.
How does your role contribute to Airbus’ mission or the success of its products?
We keep an eye on technological times to make the product profitable. The safety rate must be high so that there are no failures.. Safety is priority.
How has Airbus supported your career growth or personal development?
I have had training courses and trips abroad. There were language schools, but unfortunately not now. For example I had the chance be in Portsmouth, in the UK to be trained for a space project. I was delegated Astri Poland, and was in charge of preparing harnesses for space.
How has your career evolved since you joined Airbus?
I have been working at Airbus for 16 years. I joined as a junior electrical harness electrician and worked on the Airbus C295, A330 and space and Eagle projects. I have also been seconded to other departments to support complex projects.
What’s your most memorable experience at Airbus? Why does it stand out?
My most memorable experience at Airbus was working on a space project and a trip to England. It was a unique project and working in the cleanroom in very clean environment. Being part of a space project is most valuable project for me.
Is there a specific project or moment you’re particularly proud of? Why?
Space, Juice i Biomass. Unique project.
What advice would you give to someone starting a career in aerospace?
Be patient, reliable and meticulous. Willingness to overcome obstacles-sometimes something won't work out and you need to be able to solve the problem. Focus on problem soling.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career at Airbus?
Don't be afraid; it's not as complicated as it may seem. With dedication and a willingness to learn, you'll find that challenges are more manageable than they first appear. At first I had trouble reading technical drawings, spatial imagination helps. You have to have humility, listen to the advice of senior colleagues and get. Sometimes it helps to save a few hours of work. It is worth learning from others.
What would you say to someone who doesn’t think they “fit” in aerospace?
Not as strange as it looks like. It doesn't require superhuman strength; rather, it’s about precision, focus, and the willingness to learn and adapt.
If you could give one piece of advice, what would it be?
You have to give yourself a chance, try it out, assess whether you are suitable or not.
What do you appreciate most about Airbus as a workplace?
What I appreciate most is the team I work with. We consistently support one another, fostering an environment where we can all grow and develop together, learning from each other.

How does Airbus support you in maintaining work-life balance?
Good working hours, I finish work at 2 pm which allows me the opportunity to pursue my hobby activities (end, child, other activities). I appreciate it a lot.
What motivates you to keep growing in your career?
What motivates me to keep growing in my career is the continuous opportunity to learn and improve my skills. I enjoy this work a lot and want to continue. I would very much like to develop myself through future projects.
What’s one message you’d like to share with the next generation of aerospace professionals?
Practice doesn’t make perfect, but it leads to excellence. Consistent effort and dedication allow us to refine our skills and continually improve, striving for the highest standards in everything we do.This work fascinates me and does not let me see.
