María is Senior Vice President and Head of the Tanker, Transport and Mission Aircraft Programmes at Airbus Defence and Space. Her portfolio includes the A330 MRTT (Multi-Role Tanker Transport) and other military derivatives, as well as the C295 aircraft, which are used for tactical transport, maritime surveillance and patrol missions. She previously held the position of Programme Director for the A400M developments, as well as senior management roles in Programmes, Quality and Operations within Airbus Commercial Aircraft and Airbus Defence and Space. She began her career as a composite materials researcher and then as a software engineer in the US.
