Yannick Malinge

Yannick Malinge holds the position of Senior Vice President Aviation Safety of the Commercial Aircraft business at Airbus and is a member of the Commercial Aircraft Executive Committee. In this role, Yannick defines the Airbus commercial aircraft safety policies and leads accident/incident prevention strategies, fulfilling Airbus' obligations regarding accident/incident investigations and crisis response.

Yannick also leads Airbus' corporate aviation safety governance across Commercial Aircraft, Defence & Space and Helicopters. He was appointed to this position in October 2010.

In addition to his core responsibilities, Yannick is a Board member of the Flight Safety Foundation and the President of the Board of the French Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC).

Yannick graduated from the French Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) as an Aeronautical Engineer in 1986, joining Airbus the following year as a Cockpit/Avionics Engineer. In 1993, Yannick joined the Flight Safety department as Deputy Vice President of Flight Safety, leading various accident and major incident investigations.

In 1998, he was appointed Head of the MAP team (Mise Au Point) in the frame of the A340-500/600 development flight test campaign. In this role he was in charge of the technical coordination between the Airbus Flight Test Center, A340-500/600 Chief Engineer team, and Design Office to support the flight test campaigns for the A340-500/600.

In November 2003, he returned to the Flight Safety Department as Vice-President of Flight Safety. His two main areas of focus were accident and major incident investigation, and accident prevention. 

Yannick was born in 1963, married with three sons. He has been recognised for the "Médaille de l'Aéronautique" and the "Médaille de l'Ordre National du Mérite".
