Francisco Sánchez Segura has been Chief Operating Officer at Airbus Defence and Space since January 2024. He has been a Member of the Division’s Executive Committee since 1 July 2021, when he was appointed Executive Vice President Head of Engineering. Additionally, he took on the role of Head of Operations between June 2022 and January 2023, and continued from July 2023.
Prior to this position, he served as Senior Vice President Military Aircraft Engineering and Head of the Design Organisation in Airbus Defence and Space.
He joined Airbus in 2002 where he has developed his professional career by holding numerous management and executive positions linked to Engineering and Programme Management within the Airbus Commercial Aircraft division in Toulouse, Hamburg and Madrid.
Francisco Sánchez Segura joined Airbus Defence and Space division in 2014 as Vice President Head of Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Innovation, based in Seville, position that he held until 2017 when he served as Vice President Head of A400M Programme Development. In this role, he was in charge of delivering current and future capabilities for the most modern military transport aircraft.
Sánchez Segura holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Saint Louis University, MO, USA, and a Master of Science in Aerospace Vehicle Design from Cranfield University, UK.
