Francisco Javier Sánchez Segura

Francisco Javier Sánchez Segura, was appointed President of Airbus in Spain for the Group on 1st October 2024. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Airbus Defence and Space. He was Chief Operating Officer at Airbus Defence and Space between January 2024 and June 2025.  From 1 July 2021 to January 2024,  he served as Executive Vice President Head of Engineering. From June 2019 till June 2021, he served as Senior Vice President Military Aircraft Engineering and Head of the Design Organisation in Airbus Defence and Space.

He joined Airbus in 2002 where he has developed his professional career by holding numerous management and executive positions linked to Engineering and Programme Management within the Airbus Commercial Aircraft division in Toulouse, Hamburg and Madrid.

Francisco Javier  Sánchez Segura joined Airbus Defence and Space division in 2014 as Vice President Head of Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Innovation, based in Seville, position that he held until 2017 when he served as Vice President Head of A400M Programme Development. In this role, he was in charge of delivering current and future capabilities for the most modern military transport aircraft.

Sánchez Segura holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Saint Louis University, MO, USA, and a Master of Science in Aerospace Vehicle Design from Cranfield University, UK.
