Chris Jones to become top sales executive at Airbus Americas
Marks return to Airbus after successful three-year stint at Bombardier
Christopher P. Jones has been named Head of Sales and Marketing for Airbus Americas’ commercial aircraft business. In this capacity, he will be responsible for all aspects of the marketing and sale of Airbus passenger, freight and corporate aircraft in North America.
Reporting directly to C. Jeffrey Knittel, Chairman and CEO Airbus Americas, and functionally to Airbus Chief Commercial Officer Christian Scherer, Jones will lead the region’s Sales, Marketing, Contracts, and Sales Finance teams. The appointment is effective December 1, 2018.
Jones brings more than two decades of experience in aircraft sales and marketing to the post most recently as Vice President of Sales for Bombardier Commercial Aircraft in North America.
The appointment marks a return to Airbus Americas for Jones, who first joined Airbus in 1998 as Sales Director. He became Vice President of Marketing in 2007 and was named Vice President of Sales shortly thereafter.

Prior to joining Airbus, Jones completed a Commercial Apprenticeship at British Aerospace, combined with studies in business and finance at the University of Hertfordshire (U.K.). He then worked in Marketing and Sales in the U.S. on the Jetstream and AVRO RJ programs.
