Airbus appoints Patrick de Castelbajac to lead strategy, corporate and international development and M&A
Airbus has appointed Patrick de Castelbajac, 45, to lead the Company’s strategy, corporate and international development activities as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) as of 1 April 2017.
In his new role, de Castelbajac will report to Airbus Chief Executive Officer Tom Enders. For this new professional challenge, he will be supported by June du Halgouet, who among other roles continues to lead M&A. The Heads of Public Affairs for France, Germany, Spain, the UK and the EU will continue to report directly to Tom Enders.
Currently, de Castelbajac serves as Company Secretary and Chief of Staff to Airbus Chief Operating Officer and President Airbus Commercial Aircraft Fabrice Brégier as well as Head of Airbus Strategy. He will transition to his new role progressively, continuing to support Fabrice Brégier with his current duties until a successor has been appointed.
A lawyer by training and a French-Irish national, Patrick de Castelbajac has an accomplished management career in industry and at Airbus in particular.
Before assuming his current duties in November 2016, he had served as CEO of regional aircraft manufacturer ATR since 2014. After joining Airbus in 2002, he quickly climbed the management ranks within the Company’s Legal and Procurement departments before heading Airbus Commercial Aircraft sales negotiations. Patrick de Castelbajac started his career in industry in 1997 at MBDA (then Aerospatiale Missiles) before working for three years at Baker & McKenzie Paris office.
