Rémi Maillard was appointed Executive Vice President (EVP) Engineering for the Commercial Aircraft business on 1 July 2025. In this role, Rémi leads a global team of more than 15,000 Airbus engineers who are responsible for the design, development, testing, certification and continuous airworthiness of all Commercial Aircraft products.

Additionally, as Head of Technology Airbus, Rémi leads and coordinates all technology and R&T activities across Airbus and its various businesses, driving the company's commitment to delivering innovative and breakthrough technologies for the future of aerospace.

Prior to this role, Rémi was President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, where he oversaw all Airbus’ businesses in the region, including Commercial Aircraft, Defence and Space, and Helicopters. He was responsible for all commercial operations as well as Airbus’ regional footprint including engineering, training, customer services and supply chain.

Prior to his work in India, Rémi was the Head of Airbus Services focusing on growing the Commercial Aircraft services business unit across training and flight operations, maintenance, aircraft upgrades and digital solutions.

Rémi joined Airbus in 2008 and has since held several leadership roles. His journey started at Airbus Helicopters, where he served as Chief Engineer for the Tiger and the H175 programmes. He later became Head of Development Chief Engineers spearheading engineering efforts for helicopter development programmes and managing rotorcraft architecture, pre-design, and styling centers of competence.

Before Airbus, Rémi worked as an Associate Director with a consulting firm specialising in industrial strategy.

Rémi holds a degree in engineering and a master’s in business administration from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris.
