What is your role and where are you based?

After 10 years in Airbus Commercial aircraft in Hamburg, Germany, I was nominated Head of Engineering Quality for Airbus Helicopters in Marignane, France. This role is well balanced between Engineering and Quality. I really enjoy connecting these two domains.

How long have you been working at Airbus?

I’ve had different roles in Airbus for 19 years in both France and Germany and I am thrilled to arrive in Airbus Helicopters. I actually started my career in Quality, in the automotive industry, so have now returned to my “roots”, this time at Airbus.

Which aircraft/products are you working with?

Within Airbus Commercial I worked on all aircraft, including the A400M. And now I have a special focus on Airbus Helicopters.

What was the main drive that led you to apply and be part of Airbus?

The cultural and social environment of Airbus, the fact that the company is internationally recognized and the chance to work on products that resonate with people worldwide.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

I like to create opportunities to improve business performance, such as using digital technologies for the development of Predictive Quality. I also enjoy engaging in meaningful exchanges and  connecting with people. And as a manager, I find great fulfillment in developing and coaching people and thereby contributing to their growth.

Tell us about a  memorable experience from your career at Airbus. What made it so special and unforgettable?

When I left my previous team, they  organized a surprise dinner for me. And they gave me a very special gift: a 3D-printed object representing our department “Q1”. This was the perfect symbol of our creativity and teamwork. I was deeply moved by this special gift.

What is the most important advice you have received - and  would like to give?

The most impactful advice I've ever received is quite simple: “smile”. It's incredible how such a small gesture holds immense power, brightening the day of the one who gives it, as well as the receiver.

What has been one of the most empowering moments at Airbus?

In my previous job, I felt really empowered when my manager supported my ideas and vision about predictive quality. It enabled me to convert these into a strategy and implement actions for my team and at department level.

The presence of women, their talent and perspectives are needed for the industry transformation and innovation. The aeronautics industry offers several opportunities in various fields, from engineering to management and operations. I would  encourage women to break the bias and stereotypes and take opportunities in this industry. It is essential to foster diversity and inclusion.

What important message would you  send out to women considering a career in the aeronautic industry?

What are the benefits of working at Airbus?

We can work with different people, experts from different domains and different backgrounds, internally and externally (suppliers, customers). There are also many occasions to connect with people: ,  I co-founded the cross-division network “Women in AI” at Airbus.

Which  Airbus values relate to your own?

Creativity and Integrity because I am keen on bringing new business opportunities and doing it in accordance with integrity is important for me. And of course “team work” because I am definitely a team player.

Working with cultural diversity and enabling people to connect towards a common ambition to deliver the best for our products and services. Everyday we collaborate and create bridges between people.

How do you enjoy spending your free time?

I find joy in a variety of activities: I swim once a week, I am learning to play chess, and one of the most interesting hobbies is Mexican folk dance, helping me to connect with my Mexican roots (indeed, I have a dual citizenship French and Mexican).

Any fun facts you’d like to share?

As I said, one of the best gifts you can give to someone is a smile. And when  my team gave me a farewell gift,  guess what? On the back they’d engraved “There is always a reason to smile”.

So I think they know me very well!!

Career path at Airbus

I am keen to learn and curiosity has been one of the drivers in my professional journey.

I've had the opportunity to work in different industries starting in automotives and then in aeronautics at Airbus. I've embraced various roles and transitioned from Manufacturing to  Procurement, Programmes, Engineering, Quality and am now stepping into the role of Head of Engineering Quality at Airbus Helicopters.

This diversity of my background, and the fact that I worked in 2 different countries and in both Commercial aircraft and now Helicopters, has given me the capacity to adapt to different situations.
