Airbus Group’s All-Electric E-Fan 2.0 Tail Painted By Gérard Economos

Airbus Group will build the Final Assembly Line for the E-Fan 2.0 all-electric aircraft in Pau, southwest France. The targeted goal for entry-into-service of the first E-Fan 2.0 is around the end of 2017 or beginning of 2018.

Voltair SAS, owned 100 percent by Airbus Group, will manage the E-Fan 2.0’s development, production and delivery as well as selling and providing services like maintenance.

About Airbus Group

Airbus Group is a global leader in aeronautics, space and related services. In 2014, the Group – comprising Airbus, Airbus Defence and Space and Airbus Helicopters – generated revenues of € 60.7 billion and employed a workforce of around 138,600.

During a live art event held on Wednesday at the Paris Air Show, the artist Gérard Economos painted the tail of Airbus Group’s all-electric E-Fan 2.0 mock-up.

“Gérard Economos’ distinctive and unconventional way of painting is inspiring. His newest masterpiece on our E-Fan 2.0 mock-up symbolises in expressive art the unique technologies and innovations we will integrate into this aircraft,” said Jean Botti, Airbus Group’s Chief Technical Officer.
