408 aircraft including the first A350F ordered at the Dubai airshow
In the first major airshow since the COVID-19 pandemic struck two years ago, customers demonstrated confidence in the recovery of the aviation sector and also in Airbus by placing orders and commitments totalling 408 aircraft (269 firm orders and 139 commitments). The agreements covered the full range of commercial aircraft families, including a first commitment for the A350F freighter derivative.

Middle East Airlines becomes 50th customer for Airbus Skywise Health Monitoring
Middle East Airlines (MEA) has signed an agreement to join the community of Skywise Health Monitoring (SHM) users. The long standing Airbus customer will be the 50th airline using this innovative tool to optimise the maintenance of its fleets. SHM will support the airline’s maintenance and engineering teams by enabling real-time management of aircraft events and troubleshooting.

Airbus gains first A220 and A330 Flight Hour Services customers in Africa with Air Tanzania and Uganda Airlines
Two new airline customers in Africa have selected Airbus’ Flight Hour Services (FHS) to support their respective Airbus fleets: Air Tanzania for its A220s and Uganda Airlines for its A330neos.

First five-bladed H145 for offshore wind operations delivered to HTM
Airbus Helicopters has delivered the first five-bladed H145 to be used in the offshore wind segment to its long-term customer HTM Helicopters. The aircraft will be operated from one of HTM’s bases at Norden-Norddeich, Emden, Borkum and Helgoland. For its missions, which include passenger transport to and from wind farms and hoisting technicians to the wind-turbines, the helicopter is equipped with a powerful hoist, floatation equipment, and a cargo hook.

The latest test flight of an A350 operating on 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) has mobilised DLR’s Falcon 20E to capture and analyse in-flight data. Flying within 100 metres during the test campaign, the two aircraft are already delivering invaluable insight, the preliminary observations of which point to the positive impact of SAF on aircraft emissions.

Simulation for safety
At the 2021 European Rotors rotorcraft trade show in Cologne, Germany, Airbus Helicopters and VRM Switzerland announced that they have been cooperating during the development phase of the simulator manufacturer's H125 full-motion virtual reality simulator, which offers a very realistic rendering and representative pilot experience that will help enhance operational safety.
