Providing essential training tools

The Airbus Helicopters Training Academy designs and develops a comprehensive range of customer-focused training tools to facilitate the range of courses offered.

Courses are delivered by highly qualified and experienced instructors using innovative theoretical and practical training means at our worldwide network of training centres.

Our training means

Customer tailored

P-Check

P-Check is a device that allows users to check components on realistic virtual helicopters. It also enables them to follow the check procedure through predefined work card steps, move around inside the helicopter, and interact with components for better check understanding.

Full Flight Simulator

The Full Flight Simulator and other training devices (FSTDs), such as the Virtual Reality Simulator, allow pilots to learn, train and repeat procedures (including emergency maneuvers) in safe conditions.

H125 VR Simulator

Pilots can train on the first EASA qualified H125 virtual reality simulator.  The training device allows for a full body, immersive experience, and the ability to safely repeat a number of activities, such as emergency procedures, within the virtual reality environment.

Comploc

Comploc is a training device that enables trainees to locate main components on a realistic virtual helicopter. Trainees can also search for components from a predefined list, freely navigate in the interior of a helicopter, and interact with components for easier identification.

e-Applications

These operational tools, used in training scenarios, help prepare for real tasks during future operations. They include: PC2 DLE, Performance, Weight & Balance, and eFML.

HATS Helionix Trainer

This trainer enables a smooth transition from theory to practice for pilots and technicians on all Helionix-equipped aircraft. It includes a troubleshooting simulator and an interactive procedure trainer.

Part Task Trainer

The part-task trainer focuses on proper use of a helicopter’s flight management system, allowing pilots to practice navigation, flight planning and related other related activities.

Full-size mock-ups

To ensure the right balance between theoretical and practical instruction, Airbus training centres are equipped with full-size mock-ups – which can replace real aircraft during technician Type Rating training – located inside well-equipped hangars.

Virtual maintenance trainers for technicians

These trainers combine the benefits of a virtual environment and a real aircraft. The Comploc app enables the location of key components in a realistic virtual helicopter, while the Sim app allows users to practise procedural maintenance tasks.

System Emulator

Emulators are light and portable solutions to get familiarised with specific systems of the aircraft – including the flight display system, vehicle and engine monitoring display, normal and emergency operations, and more.
