British Airways becomes the 10th customer to receive Airbus’ A380

During a handover ceremony at Airbus’ delivery centre in Toulouse, British Airways received its milestone first A380 jetliner – making it the first UK airline, and as well as the 10th worldwide, to do so. With the A380 in its fleet, this carrier is able to offer its passengers an all-new travel experience.

Underscoring the growing trend of “airliners for hire,” Airbus and Amedeo finalised a contract covering 20 A380s at the 2014 Singapore Airshow – offering a more flexible method for customers to access the double-deck jetliner’s unique benefits. The 20-aircraft agreement originally was announced at the 2013 Paris Air Show – when Amedeo was known as Doric Lease Corp.

Airbus delivers the initial A380 for South Korea’s Asiana Airlines

With delivery of its no. 1 A380, South Korea-based Asiana Airlines became the 11th operator worldwide to receive Airbus’ 21st century flagship jetliner. This aircraft was handed over to Park Sam Koo, Chairman of Kumho Asiana Group, by Airbus President and CEO Fabrice Brégier during a special ceremony today in Toulouse, France.

Emirates Airline receives its 50th A380 jetliner

Airbus marked a key milestone with the handover of Emirates Airline's 50th A380 aircraft, which was celebrated at a gathering held in Hamburg, Germany. During comments at the event, Emirates Airline President Sir Tim Clark highlighted the continued success of Airbus’ 21st century flagship jetliner in this carrier’s operations.
