Romain Trapp is Chief Operating Officer for Airbus Helicopters North America, leading operations in both the U.S. and Canada. He was appointed to the role in March 2016.
Romain is also President of Airbus Helicopters Canada, a position he has held since July 2013.
Romain began his professional career in 1999, when he joined Airbus France as the Business Systems Controller for the popular A380 Program. Following this, he took over as the Corporate Controller of the Airbus division at the Airbus Group (formerly EADS) headquarters in Munich, Germany, where he was responsible for the financial oversight of the division.
In 2005, he was appointed Head of Administration and Controlling for Airbus Group International, the marketing and sales organization of Airbus Group. He oversaw the financial, legal, human resources and information technology teams of 35 subsidiaries in 28 different countries. In 2008, he moved to the U.S. to become the Executive Vice President and CFO of Airbus Helicopters Inc. in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Romain was born in France. He graduated from France’s Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan in business management and accounting before earning a master’s degree from the University Paris Sorbonne in finance, economics and econometrics. He is also a graduate from the Stanford Executive Program in the United States.
He is presently serving as Director on the Boards of the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the French American Chamber of Commerce (Dallas chapter). He is also a Foreign Trade Adviser for France.
