The C295 is the only solution that combines the benefits of a tactical medium transport aircraft with the versatility of an airborne water bomber in the firefighting role.

With two internal tanks of 7,000 litres of water or retardant (3,500 litres each tank), it has a higher capacity than other dedicated firefighting aircraft.

The discharge is performed by gravity through ventral doors, which is the most efficient firefighting method – providing better coverage than systems requiring pressurisation. Its state-of-the-art control system adjusts the flow rate according to pilots’ commands and flight parameters.

As the internal tanks are roll-on/roll-off, this solution combines an effective water bomber with the C295’s rear-ramp multirole capabilities, enabling the aircraft to serve as firefighter in periods of high fire risk, and as a multirole transporter during the remainder of the year.
