Airbus partners and suppliers are part of an extended family, each playing a crucial role in our joint success.

Around 80% of Airbus’ activity is sourced externally. We work with more than 12,000 suppliers worldwide, who provide products and services for flying and non-flying parts.

Airbus continuously develops its supplier base, with an overall sourcing volume valued at approximately €49.6 billion. Our external procurement is equivalent to over two-thirds of Airbus’ revenues.
 

Direct and indirect procurement

Suppliers for direct procurement are grouped by commodities for flying parts.

Indirect procurement of goods and services – also known as non-flying parts – comes under the responsibility of Airbus General Procurement.

Airbus rewards the exceptional contribution of our commercial aircraft suppliers to our ramp-up and sustainability goals. The awards are organised into three categories:

• Sustainability: Our industry’s common responsibility is to support the journey to low-carbon aviation. 
• Innovation: This award recognises the supply chain’s important role in keeping Airbus at the cutting edge.
