NASHVILLE, TN. (27 April 2018) – During the 2018 Army Aviation Missions Solutions Summit at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn., Airbus Helicopters Inc. announced a new corporate sponsorship with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) and unveiled their H145 demo aircraft with the WWP logo proudly displayed on it.
WWP through a comprehensive range of programs and services helps injured veterans transition to civilian life. WWP has been able to help over 130,000 warriors, family members, and caregivers, and Airbus Helicopters Inc. wants to help expand WWP’s reach and amplify their core message by using one of their most popular demo aircraft to promote the organization.
"We are honored to partner with Wounded Warrior Project because their mission of supporting and improving the lives of our nation’s warriors and their families is one that resonates with all of us at Airbus," said Chris Emerson, president, and head Airbus Helicopters North America Region. "Many of our employees are U.S. veterans, so it is truly special to get the opportunity to promote and work with WWP to advance their mission further.
"Wounded Warrior Project has been a tireless advocate for our nation’s finest, improving the lives of over half a million warriors and their families," said Gary Corless, chief development officer at WWP. "Thanks to the passionate supporters who make our mission possible through awareness and fundraising campaigns, we can continue to provide life changing programs at no charge. Warriors never pay a penny for our programs – because they paid their dues on the battlefield."
The multi-mission H145 demo aircraft, now with WWP’s logo affixed to it, will be seen all across the United States by thousands who attend shows where Airbus exhibits and all potential H145 customers who will fly it. The multi-mission H145 helicopter is used for law enforcement, emergency medical transportation, utility, and VIP transport missions across the country. Based on the UH-72A Lakota that is used by the U.S. Army, the enhanced H145 has the latest Helionix® glass cockpit and Fenestron® tail rotor system for improved torque, performance, and safety.
