Throughout this year we are asking some of our customers what message they would like to send to Airbus Helicopters, Inc. in celebration of our 50th anniversary. Here is our fifth customer profile – Rod Tinney, CEO of Air Center Helicopters, Inc. Working directly with clients, Air Center configures the aircraft to fit the customer’s specific needs and specializes in commercial and government operations worldwide. Air Center values the longstanding relationship with Airbus Helicopters and is excited to see where the next 50 years take us together.
To continue the Airbus Helicopters 50th anniversary, we are featuring the National Guard – Pennsylvania Counterdrug Joint Task Force for our fourth customer profile. The Counterdrug Aviation Detachment receives an average of 2 mission requests per day and supports nearly 30 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. This group utilizes two Airbus UH-72A Lakota helicopters. The military version of the civilian EC145 is both dual-engine, autopilot equipped, fitted with a specialized mission equipment package (MEP) used to support counterdrug operations. Pictured is the OAG Special Operations Group at the Philadelphia International Airport after serving 13 search warrants in Kensington earlier this year. The operation was a large-scale operation that included aviation assets from the Office of the Attorney General, Pennsylvania Counterdrug Joint Task Force and the New Jersey Counterdrug Joint Task Force. Airbus UH-72As from both states were utilized as a tool for law enforcement to record probable cause on the locations, maintain surveillance, and later execute the search warrants. In congratulations on our 50th anniversary, the group wishes Airbus Helicopters continued success and continued improvement of Airbus products, always improving on the capabilities currently available.
MIAMI - Two Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopters from Air Station Miami fly in formation over the Atlantic Ocean Nov. 11, 2007. The HH-65 is know for its Fenestron tail rotor and its autopilot capabilities, which can complete an unaided approach to the water and bring the aircraft into a stable 50-foot hover, or automatically fly search patterns, an ability which allows the crew to engage in other tasks.
