A golden moment for “See the bigger picture” in Vancouver

Continuing its worldwide tour as part of the International Year of Biodiversity, the “See the bigger picture” photo exhibition will be on display near the Olympic Village in Vancouver, Canada through 21 March.

The “See the bigger picture” touring photo exhibition is currently on display near the Whistler Olympic Village in Vancouver, Canada, providing visitors with an up-close look at winning images from Airbus’ youth photo competition.

This display – which also includes entries from Airbus employees’ family members – is being shown at the Squamish Lil’Wat Cultural Centre until 21 March. As part of the International Year of Biodiversity, the exhibition is scheduled to tour major events across the globe throughout 2010.

The "See the bigger picture" competition was created in partnership with National Geographic as part of Airbus' support for the Green Wave, a youth engagement programme of the United Nations’ Convention on Biological Diversity. Young people from 99 countries submitted photographs to the contest, and eight winners were announced in November 2009.

“Through research and development, Airbus is working with the industry to help balance growth in air travel with a more sustainable environment for all,” said Andrea Debbane, Airbus Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications. “As a responsible industry leader, however, we need to look beyond our core activity and use our global outreach to help support wider environmental initiatives. This is why Airbus created the ‘See the bigger picture’ competition as part of its support for the Green Wave.”
