Sustainable Aerospace

At Airbus, sustainability is centred around respecting the planet, valuing people, and enabling prosperity. In Brussels, we want to influence EU decision makers to shape the future of a sustainable aviation and support the European civil aviation sector to achieve the net-zero CO2 emissions roadmap.

Decarbonisation

As a leader in the aviation industry’s decarbonisation journey, Airbus is at the heart of key European decisions to make Europe a leader in decarbonisation. The European aviation industry was the first in the world to commit to the realisation of a net-zero goal for all departing flights by 2050 through DESTINATION 2050. To deliver on our decarbonisation strategy, we have the ambition to develop our first hydrogen-powered commercial aircraft by 2035 to ensure future generations can enjoy flying as much as we do.
