Airbus will showcase a wide range of products, cutting-edge technologies, services and innovations that are leading the way to a sustainable future for aerospace at the Dubai Airshow 2021 from 14-18 November. The Company’s presence at the airshow will be in strict accordance with COVID-19 protocols set by the UAE Government to ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
At the Dubai Airshow, which runs from 17-21 November 2019, Airbus will showcase its wide range of innovative technologies, products and services from market leading commercial and military aircraft to helicopters and space systems.
The e-racer model from Team Condor Aviation is a retrofit of the winning “White Lightning” aircraft from formula one races of the 1980s and 1990s. The 2019 Dubai Air Show marks the e-racer’s first public appearance in anticipation of the inaugural competition of the Air Race E racing series.
The fleet size of operators from all regions serving the UAE is forecast to nearly treble to some 1,730 aircraft by 2038 from around 630 today, according to the 2019 Airbus Global Market Forecast (GMF). This includes 750 Small category aircraft like the A320 and A321, and 980 Medium and Large aircraft like the A330neo and A350 serving the UAE market in the next two decades; this as UAE O&D passenger traffic is forecast to grow 5.8% per annum over the next 20 years.
In the next 20 years, Airbus forecasts demand for air transport to progressively shift from fleet growth to the accelerated retirement of older, less fuel-efficient aircraft, resulting in a need for some 39,000 new-build passenger and freighter aircraft, 15,250 of these for replacement.
