Cathay Pacific Airways and HK Express have signed contracts for
Airbus’s Flight Hour Services (FHS) to provide support for their A320 Family fleets. These
extend the service relationship with Cathay Pacific and welcome HK Express as a new FHS

As an in-flight medical director for emergency services provider Eliance in Chile, Dr. Karina Flores Rojas does some of her most critical work hundreds of feet above the ground with adrenaline surging – and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I can say without any exaggeration that I adore my job,” said Flores Rojas, who began taking part in HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Services) operations while working at the Aerospace Medicine Centre of the Chilean Air Force (FACh) – which she joined after graduating as a doctor.
Flores Rojas has worked in different roles with various HEMS service providers since 2017, including medical management and medical crew tasks. This includes her time as Head of Aviation Medicine for the Chile’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) – which focussed on establishing rules and procedures for local air ambulances.
In late spring of 1969, a young boy named Björn Steiger spends the day at the local swimming pool in his hometown of Winnenden, Germany. On his way home that afternoon, he is struck by a car. The local police and Red Cross are immediately contacted, but it takes almost a full hour before the ambulance arrives on the scene. Björn Steiger dies on the way to the hospital.

Sweden’s air ambulance service – Svensk Luftambulans – has ordered three new H145 helicopters in a deal announced at the Heli Expo 2020 exhibition.
Airbus Helicopters and DRF Luftrettung have signed a contract for the purchase of 15 new H145s, three H135s and the retrofit of their current 20 H145s to the five-bladed version. This will bring the H145 fleet of the German Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) to 35 helicopters, making them the biggest operator of the five-bladed H145 in the world. The contract, booked in 2019, also renews DRF’s HCare smart contract, a full support parts-by-the-hour contract for DRF’s entire fleet for the next eight years.
Vistara, India’s full-service carrier and a joint venture of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, has signed a long-term contract to partner with Airbus for their Flight Hour Services - Tailored Support Package (FHS-TSP). The contract will cover engineering and maintenance for 62 aircraft, including 23 existing ones.
Airbus Helicopters and the Romanian Ministry of Interior have signed a contract for the purchase of three H135 helicopters and associated support and services for air medical services and search and rescue (SAR) missions in the country, following a four-year framework agreement signed at the end of July 2019 that foresees the procurement of up to ten H135s.
