DAY 50

DAY 50

PIONEERING PROGRESS TOMORROW

Our vision for the next 50 years

Half a century ago, the Airbus founders committed to a bold vision for the future of aerospace.

That moment sparked a movement, which has seen Airbus grow to be a global company and a leader in the aerospace sector.

As we continue to celebrate those fifty years of pioneering progress, we also look to the next fifty years, and beyond.

What should the Airbus of the future look like? And how do we make that vision a reality?

Every day, we are driven by the desire to improve lives. Whatever the challenge, we make it fly, connecting people across the globe, making nations safe and galaxies known.

Our passion, talent and pioneering spirit has helped us address some of society’s most critical issues and transform the aerospace industry.

Now, our industry is at the beginning of an extraordinary technological revolution. Artificial intelligence, advanced connectivity, digital technology and quantum computing will all combine in exciting and unexpected ways.

We are committed to working collaboratively with our partners and suppliers to drive that progress.

We are also pressing ahead with research and development into a new generation of cleaner technology. Electric engines, sustainable aviation fuels including hydrogen, alongside raising the fuel efficiency of our aircraft will help us halve CO2 emissions by 2050 compared to 2005.

We commit to bringing people together in a sustainable way.

Over the past fifty days, we have celebrated the pioneering spirit that has driven our progress up until today.

We have also celebrated the people across Airbus with the courage to make that happen. They are our greatest asset.

We are dedicated to empowering our people so that they can be the best pioneers they can, whatever their role.

Together, we commit to building a better connected, safer and more prosperous world. This will shape our future story – one of ambition and progress; one of great things achieved, and great things to come.

“I believe knowing our roots and having that understanding of what has made us successful is absolutely essential when it comes to writing our next chapter.”

Guillaume Faury, Airbus CEO.

“We’re now on the final day of our story series that has focused on the pioneering progress of Airbus.

“Why have we celebrated in this way?

“Well, it has been an opportunity for us to showcase Airbus’ achievements over the last 50 years, for all our stakeholders to understand where we have come from, and also to give some hints as to where we want to go to.

“Reflecting on our history, learning from our experiences, and celebrating our successes further fuels our passion, pride, self-confidence and also our humility, enabling us to embrace the challenges we want to address in our next chapter with enthusiasm.

“We acknowledge the world is changing fast, and what got us to where we are today, as a global leader in aeronautics and space, will not necessarily be what we will need to be successful in the future.

“I believe knowing our roots and having that understanding of what has made us successful is absolutely essential when it comes to writing our next chapter.”

Guillaume Faury, Airbus CEO.
