Nicole has recently been named as a Finalist in the 2020 Women in Defence Awards, in the category of operations. This annual awards program is organised by Australian Defence Magazine.
Nicole has been at Airbus for almost nine and a half years and started her career in 2011 as a Personal Assistant to one the Vice Presidents. Over the years she has been promoted to different roles: Executive Assistant to the Managing Director and most recently Chief of Staff. Her career with Airbus has been, and continues to be, exciting, fast paced and full of variety.
In her role, she acts as an advisor to the Managing Director, Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors. She manages strategic projects, drives organisational change through values-based leadership, and runs governance processes both regionally and globally.
The Women in Defence Awards is an annual event run by Australian Defence Magazine (ADM). It celebrates women who make a positive impact within the defence business arena. The event is held annually, usually by way of a gala dinner, however this year, it will be held as a live-stream event.
“I'm thrilled and humbled all at once! To have been selected as a Finalist is an incredible feeling, especially amongst a group of such talented and successful women who have accomplished some amazing things. It’s a great honour to be a part of this group.”
Nicole’s most memorable experience so far in her career was her first Avalon Airshow. She has only been in the company for a short time and was selected as part of the core event team. “Being part of the event was amazing - the energy and excitement in the air every day was infectious and my eyes were opened to just how awesome the aviation industry is.” Seeing all Airbus’ products flying in the Defence Showcase gave her a real appreciation of just how incredible their capabilities are as well as how important they are to their Customers, the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces.
